Gynecomastia, or Breast enlargement in men is an enlarged male breast tissue that happens due to an imbalance of testosterone and estrogen. Sometimes breast sizes can reach advanced degrees and create a feminine appearance.
Gynecomastia can affect males of all ages. But it usually occurs during the newborn period, puberty and older adulthood.
This condition, which can be observed unilaterally or bilaterally, has the potential to impair quality of life and create serious psychosocial problems. Especially for young men who avoid public activities, and tend to social isolation.
Gynecomastia isn’t harmful to your physical health, but may affect your self-esteem.
Can gynecomastia go away with exercise?
If your gynecomastia is due to obesity, weight loss may decrease it. But if it’s due to a hormonal imbalance, exercise likely won’t make a difference.
